Our client contacted us in regards to their outdated staircase and ask what we could do with it.
We ran through different options and the client commissioned us to remove the door at the bottom of the main flight, we also removed the lower newel post and all timber work just leaving the main stair case.
Original staircase with door
Door and wood work removed
We supplied new newel post, handrail and spindles which we fitted. As the main stairs was in line with the landing wall, we had to return the handrail back to the base rail, this then left the upper half of the staircase with no handrail so we supplied and fitted an oak mop stick handrail and brackets and fitted it to the wall
Newel post, base rail, spindles and handrail fitted, ready for mdf to clad stair string
Staircase complete and decorated
The stair string was clad in 9mm MDF to create a perfectly flat surface for painting.
